Born and raised in the mountains of western North Carolina, Jack Snyder takes his influences from a diverse array of artists and genres. Initially a funk bass player, he cut his teeth in the Raleigh music scene during and after college at the NC State College of Design, playing with groups such as The Black Ashleys and Scarecrow Recon.

After returning to the mountains, he continued to delve into the deeply rooted folk and bluegrass traditions of the area, while still enjoying breaking genre boundaries and experimentation. In addition to his solo work, Jack enjoys music production and has assisted on albums recorded by Raleigh genre-benders Into the Fog and Nashville-based indy extraordinaires Lawndry.
